Mass Murder

60 years ago today, the United States used a single nuclear bomb to obliterate a modern city filled both with military targets and hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.

The Enola Gay, an American Bomber, took off with only one bomb aboard. It flew steadily towards Hiroshima. That single, solitary bomb was dropped on Hiroshima at 8:15 in the morning on August 6th, 1945

More than 80,000 people were killed... instantly.

A city full of noncombatants, women, children, woke up that morning expecting a routine day and were instead transformed into carbon shadows on buildings and walls.

Tens of thousands more succumbed to horrible burns and poisonings from radiation. These unlucky tens of thousands would suffer from their wounds over a long period of time (not like the original 80,000 who died instantly in the blast) And still, most of these wounded would die after suffering horribly... Death from either radiation exposure or death from cancers or infected burns.

The saga of suffering caused by that single bomb continues throughout the years. Future Birth Defects. Leukemia. Lymphoma.

This. Must. Never. Happen. Again.

Pray, Meditate, Dance, have a moment of silence tonight... whichever you do to honor the victims. But please take time to honor the fallen and to plead to your higher power that they help us prevent this unprecedented massacre from ever taking place again.
